BRINGING REAL REPRESENTATION TO DISTRICT 89

Decades Of Neglect End When Real Representation Begins.

Brandon J. Neider is a lifelong resident of Yonkers, NY. He is a proud alumnus of Yonkers Public Schools, notably Lincoln High School.

Brandon began his civic engagement at age 18, becoming one of the youngest candidates ever to run for public office in Yonkers. He ran for City Council as an independent in 2013.

Since then, Neider has led a successful career in IT. He continued his deep committed to the community, having served as President of the East Yonkers Kiwanis, Chair of the City of Yonkers Youth Advisory Board, and former board member for his neighborhood Lincoln Park Taxpayer’s Association and the 2nd Precinct Community Council. He is attributed to numerous charitable and philanthropic endeavors including organizing food drives during the COVID-19 Pandemic, Holiday Toy Drives and engaging in local advocacy.

Professionally, Neider has enjoyed a long-term career with the Yonkers Public Libraries. In addition to his public service employment, he is the owner and founder of Yonkers Auto Detailers and serves as Board Chair for SEIU 704, representing City of Yonkers employees.

Repeal the Yonkers income tax, eliminate predatory parking/traffic fines, and stop using tolls and tickets as hidden taxes on working families.

Restore Public Safety

Fully repeal bail reform to keep dangerous offenders off the streets and roll back restrictive gun laws that violate constitutional rights.

Fix Crumbling Infrastructure

Remove the I-87 Yonkers toll, properly maintain state roads, reopen Indian Point, and end forced “opt-in” energy programs that raise utility bills.

Workers, Schools & Opportunity

Fix Tier 6 pensions, reform the Taylor Law, close school funding gaps, and expand trade and vocational education for debt-free career paths.

Issues That Actually Matter

INFRASTRUCTURE

Remove I-87 Yonkers Toll

The toll on I-87 in Yonkers drives drivers to detour onto local roads like Central Avenue, Jackson Avenue, the Sprain Brook Parkway, and the Saw Mill River Parkway, creating congestion, safety hazards, and more accidents, particularly rear-end collisions on Central Avenue. Ultimately, Yonkers bears the burden of emergency responses, cleanup, and traffic control. As your Assemblyman, I pledge to fight for the complete removal of tolls in both northbound and southbound directions on I-87.

Repave and Maintain State Roads within Yonkers & Mount Vernon

Invest in repaving and regular maintenance of state roads in Yonkers and Mount Vernon to enhance road safety, minimize vehicle wear and tear, improve traffic flow, and support economic growth by ensuring reliable infrastructure for residents, businesses, and commuters.

Reopen Indian Point

We desperately need more affordable energy, and that begins with increasing supply. Closing this reliable source of clean power was a politically motivated mistake that must be reversed.

End Mandatory ‘Opt-In’ Energy Scams

Taxpayers have been involuntarily pushed into energy programs that consistently raise bills instead of lowering them. I support outlawing any forced enrollment by cities, towns, or anyone other than Con Edison, true choice means real opt-in, not government-mandated opt-out.

FISCAL

End The Yonkers Income Tax

Repeal the local income tax imposed on Yonkers residents and
non-residents working in the city, lowering overall tax loads and making the area more attractive for living and business.

End PILOT’s & Taxbreaks for Rentals, Promote Ownership with Condo/Co-Ops

Stop Payment In Lieu Of Taxes (PILOT) agreements and tax incentives for rental housing projects, redirecting support toward homeownership options like condominiums and cooperatives to build wealth and community stability.

Regulate Sports Betting

Fight for responsible reforms to New York’s sports betting laws to
protect vulnerable residents from the dangers of gambling addiction. Mobile sports betting has exploded into a regressive tax that harms families and working New Yorkers, preying on dreams of quick riches while straining household budgets and contributing to higher rates of problem
gambling in communities.

MOTOR VEHICLES

End Reliance on Automated Parking & Traffic Cameras

I will work to eliminate parking, red-light and speed cameras. These devices often create confusion, causing drivers to slam on brakes and inadvertently block emergency vehicles, all while serving primarily as revenue generators that burden taxpayers rather than improving safety.

Repeal Overly Restrictive Window Tint Regulations

New York’s strict tint laws limit drivers ability to protect themselves from harmful UV rays and maintain basic privacy in their vehicles, which can also deter theft. I support loosening these restrictions to give motorists reasonable options for health, safety, and security.

Make Vehicle Ownership More Affordable

Currently, vehicles over 25 years old are exempt from emissions inspections. I propose lowering this threshold to 10 years, reducing costly testing requirements for everyday New Yorkers and helping families keep reliable transportation without unnecessary financial strain.

Regulate Parking & Vehicle Fines

Parking and moving tickets should punish actual mistakes, not pad government coffers. Doubling or tripling fines for late payment is predatory, it turns minor infractions into crushing debt. Overstaying a meter by five minutes shouldn’t cost you a day’s pay. I’ll push reforms to keep fines fair, eliminate punitive late multipliers, and stop using violations as a hidden tax on drivers.

RIGHTS

2nd Amendment

I will propose a full repeal of the Concealed Carry Improvement Act, which was hastily enacted after the Supreme Court struck down key provisions of the SAFE Act. I also strongly support repealing the remaining elements of the SAFE Act to restore New Yorkers constitutional rights.

SAFETY

Repeal Bail Reform

Fully repeal New York’s failed bail reform laws and restore judicial discretion to keep dangerous offenders off our streets. These changes have allowed too many criminals to be released without bail, endangering families and communities by prioritizing ideology over safety. By returning to a system where judges can consider a defendant’s risk to society and criminal history when setting bail, we can prevent recidivism, protect victims, and make our neighborhoods safer.

UNIONS & PUBLIC SECTOR

Repeal Taylor Law

I stand for fully repealing or substantially reforming the Taylor Law. Public sector unions deserve real negotiating power to effectively advocate for their members, without the threat of punitive strikes bans that tilt the scales against workers and in favor of government employers.

Fix Tier 6

Tier 6 leaves public employees with skyrocketing contributions and diminished retirement security. Having served in public service, I will lead the charge to fix Tier 6 and deliver the real pensions our workers were promised.

EDUCATION

School Budgets

Yonkers boasts two of the state’s most influential senators, yet our schools always come up short compared to other major cities. Enough is enough. I’ll lead the charge in Albany to eliminate this unfair funding gap and secure the resources our students need to thrive, no more excuses, no more being left behind.

Trades

Mt. Vernon & Yonkers and the SUNY system must prioritize hands-on trade programs like plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, welding, and HVAC. Too many young people are pushed toward expensive four-year degrees that leave them buried in debt. We desperately need skilled tradespeople earning strong, honest blue-collar wages right out of school. I’ll fight for expanded vocational training in high schools and dedicated trade pathways at SUNY campuses, equipping our kids with financial security without the burden of crushing student loans.

No More BS In Albany.
